Aveva 1.500 euro nello stomaco ma stava bene e non accusava alcun problema gastrointestinale. E se non fosse andato volontariamente a far rimuovere il “tesoretto”, chissà quanto altro tempo lo avrebbe custodito “al sicuro”. È la storia di un cittadino siriano, in Turchia da 6 anni, che si è presentato, ed è stato ricoverato, all’ospedale di Ankara “per l’ingestione di un corpo estraneo” avvenuta ben tre mesi prima. Il 28enne infatti – come purtroppo accade a tanti migranti prima di tentare un viaggio della speranza – aveva ingoiato un rotolo di banconote per un totale di 1.500 euro mentre cercava di entrare in Grecia come rifugiato. Fallito il tentativo, l’uomo, una volta respinto in Turchia, a distanza di tre mesi dall’ingestione, si è presentato volontariamente in ospedale e preso in carico dal reparto di gastroenterologia. La vicenda è diventata un ‘case report’ medico scientifico dal titolo “Banknotes in the stomach” firmato – sulla rivista Acta gastroenterologica Belgica – dall’equipe di chirurghi e gastroenterologi dell’ospedale pubblico Mayis di Ankara. I medici hanno trovato un corpo estraneo di circa 4 centimetri di diametro che hanno catturato con un “laccio”, ma che non è stato possibile fare passare attraverso l’esofago a causa delle sue grandi dimensioni. Il corpo estraneo è stato rimosso con un approccio chirurgico minore percutanea. Da qui la decisione di procedere a un’incisione cutanea per recuperare il misterioso oggetto che, solo a quel punto, si è rivelato essere un rotolo di banconote custodito in un sacchetto di plastica, per un totale di 1.500 euro. Come mostrano le immagini pubblicate dalla rivista Acta gastroenterologica Belgica, il 28enne siriano aveva scelto banconote da 200 euro e altre di grosso taglio per il minore ingombro.
