Questo è il dato dell’ultima emissione, collocata la settimana scorsa e quindi in scadenza prima della metà di ottobre 2024. Facciamo un paragone: la scadenza decennale propone un rendimento di poco inferiore al 4.8%, anche in questo caso al lordo dell’imposta sostitutiva. Solo un punto in più. In proporzione, quindi, chi investe a breve è meglio remunerato. Ancora più radicale la situazione negli Stati Uniti o anche in Germania, dove la curva dei rendimenti è «invertita»: chi investe a un anno è pagato di più rispetto a chi investe a dieci. Il messaggio di questa situazione? Il mercato stima che tra qualche anno i tassi scenderanno.
Ma allora vale la pena puntare tutto sui Bot? Le scelte massimaliste non sono mai consigliabili. La strategia da attuare è sempre quella di investire in più scadenze, al fine di ridurre il rischio legato alla durata ma anche di affidarsi ad emissioni che, in ogni caso, propongano una redditività di discreto livello. Ora più che mai, però, ci sono due situazioni globali che consigliano di più l’investimento di breve termine. In ordine temporale, l’attesa per le valutazioni delle agenzie di rating sul debito pubblico del nostro Paese e la recente esplosione dell’ennesima crisi tra Israele e la Palestina. Molto più importante sarà la decisione della statunitense Moody’s, nella seconda parte di novembre. Anche se non vanno sottovalutati possibili effetti negativi dalla situazione belligerante in Medio Oriente. Un portafoglio di Bot e di titoli con scadenze non troppo più lontane di un anno potrebbe essere una scelta da valutare. Anche perché la prima scadenza «lunga» il cui rendimento è più interessante di quella annuale, circa 4,50 per cento, è la durata settennale. Se si avanza di altri tre anni, il rendimento offerto dalla durata decennale è di poco inferiore al cinque per cento. In tutti i casi, i valori indicati s’intendono al lordo della ritenuta del 12,5%.
Appare evidente, in ogni caso, che il rendimento sale sulla lunghezza (a differenza di quanto accade negli Usa e anche in Germania) ma in misura abbastanza contenuta, se si considera che il Bot richiede un investimento annuale. Nel caso l’obiettivo sia un ritorno moderato della redditività , a fronte di un’esposizione di breve periodo, non c’è è dubbio che l’investimento in soli Bot rappresenti la scelta più vicina alle esigenze dell’investitore. Anche perché, e non è certo un aspetto secondario, valutazioni di segno non brillante da parte delle agenzie di rating, impatterebbero negativamente soprattutto sulle emissioni governative di medio o lungo periodo. I valori di mercato dei Bot subirebbero, invece, effetti molto limitati.
Il rendimento lordo di un investimento sbilanciato sui Bot sarà quindi leggermente inferiore, se raffrontato a quello che pagheranno le emissioni a medio o lungo termine, ma l’investitore potrà convivere con una maggiore tranquillità . Certo, finché l’inflazione marcia al 5% (dato di settembre), l’investimento in titoli di Stato, anche decennali, aiuta a preservare il patrimonio, ma non offre guadagni reali positivi. Ragionevolmente, è possibile allargare la scelta delle emissioni governative da affiancare ai Bot, attribuendo un peso del 35% alle emissioni con maggiore durata, lasciando il 65% ai titoli brevi e scegliendo, in questo caso, scadenze che possano corrispondere a date in cui si debba disporre di maggiore liquidità , ad esempio le vacanze, sia invernali, sia estive.
