È stata una settimana difficile e importante per l’Italia e per la politica. La tragedia dei migranti, annegati nelle acque di Cutro nel tentativo di raggiungere le nostre coste, ha scosso l’opinione pubblica. Un italiano su due (il 47,9% del totale) ha seguito la vicenda, ha sentito il dolore nelle parole dei pescatori che hanno descritto il loro intervento sulla spiaggia che ancora non ha restituito tutti i corpi.
Le persone sono rimaste «molto colpite» dall’accaduto (29,7%), anche se il 35, 9%, pur molto scosso dall’avvenimento, ha dichiarato che tra qualche giorno probabilmente lo avrà rimosso e messo da parte, seguendo le problematiche che ogni famiglia deve affrontare quotidianamente. Non si deve pensare che questo atteggiamento rappresenti uno sfregio al dolore per le persone che hanno perso la vita affrontando il viaggio alla ricerca di un nuovo mondo più giusto per vivere, come segnala l’indifferenza del 12,5% degli intervistati. Più banalmente questo sembra solo un modo per sopravvivere alle difficoltà della vita di ogni giorno: nella scelta solitaria ci si può trovare impantanati, facendo più facilmente prevalere gli interessi del proprio giardino. E mentre sui media si cerca di arrivare a capo della matassa per scoprire le diverse responsabilità nella vicenda, gli italiani stilano quella che appare a tutti gli effetti come una classifica dei responsabili.
Sono «gli scafisti» secondo il 26,2% dei cittadini, i governi da cui partono i barconi dei migranti per il 20,5%, l’Europa per il 19,8%. Seguono gli errori attribuiti ai governi degli ultimi 20 anni (9,1%), al governo Meloni (7,5%) e a tutti “noi” (8,2%). Sulle prime tre risposte si concentrano le indicazioni del popolo di centrodestra e di Azione con Italia Viva. Per gli elettori del Partito Democratico, invece, non esiste un fronte compatto, si dimostrano più frammentati nelle loro indicazioni, dividendosi più o meno in ugual misura in prima battuta tra coloro che accusano in maggioranza gli scafisti (18,6%), chi l’Europa (17%) e chi il governo Meloni (18,6%). A poca distanza gli elettori dem indicano anche i Paesi di provenienza dei barconi (15,3%) e “tutti noi” e (17,8%).
L’esistenza di un effetto bandwagon, o effetto carrozzone («tutti sul carro del vincitore») si misura infatti nei sondaggi rilevati da una settimana a questa parte, sia per quanto riguarda il Partito Democratico sia per la nuova “inquilina” della segreteria. Nel giro di qualche giorno il partito riesce a guadagnare il 2,1% dei voti (passando dal 17,5% al 19,6%), mentre la giovane leader, passando dal 21,6% al 28,4%, cresce di quasi 7 punti percentuali in una settimana nel suo indice di fiducia personale. Molti sono ritornati a votare per il Pd.

Del resto Giuseppe Conte se ne sta già accorgendo, visto che, anche se il suo indice di fiducia rimane più meno stabile intorno al 24%, nell’arco di una settimana il M5S è passato dal 16,9% al 15,6% (-1,3%). Anche l’Alleanza Verdi e Sinistra perde un punto percentuale in favore del suo vicino di campo, oggi più influente. Il tutto farebbe pensare all’aprirsi di un’area nuova, ancora più ampia in quello spazio del famoso “centro” che in molti vorrebbero occupare. La folla è nutrita e tanti sono gli aspiranti federatori per quest’area, tuttavia diversi sono i cantieri aperti. Una sfida interessante che porterà a nuovi possibili movimenti nello scenario politico. Insomma, anche nel centro è partita la campagna acquisti, ma con il rischio di vari ed eterogenei affollamenti di liste e listine.
